Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-11-05
The short version: visitors to this website do not need an account and we do not run ads or third-party analytics. The Eat My Presidential Shorts app is used by a small number of invited people to suggest ideas and approve videos; for them we keep an email address or Apple sign-in identifier, device push tokens, the ideas and chats they write, and basic logs. We use the YouTube API Services only to upload and manage videos on our own YouTube channel. We never sell personal data. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
1. Who this covers
This policy covers the website at eatmypresidentialshorts.ai and the Eat My Presidential Shorts iOS app, run by Eat My Presidential Shorts (“we”, “us”). Eat My Presidential Shorts produces AI-generated parody and satire videos (YouTube Shorts) about current US politics. Questions about this policy: use the support form and choose “Privacy / my data”.
2. What we collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account email address | You sign in to the app with an email code | To sign you in and send sign-in codes and service messages |
| Sign in with Apple identifier (and the email Apple shares, which may be a private relay address) | You choose Sign in with Apple | To sign you in and link your Apple sign-in to your account |
| Device push tokens and device type | You allow notifications in the app | To notify you when a video is ready for review or a chat has a reply |
| Chat and idea content | You write ideas, chat with the app's assistant, or leave notes on a video | To turn ideas into scripts and videos, and to revise videos |
| Usage and security logs (IP address, time, request path, user agent, sign-in and approval events) | You use the website, the app or the API | To keep the service running, secure and free of abuse, and to audit who approved what |
| Support and takedown messages | You email us | To answer you and act on your request |
Visitors who only browse the website are not asked for any personal data. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Sign-in sessions in the app use a token stored on your device.
3. How we use it
- To provide the app: sign-in, notifications, ideas, chats, video review and approval.
- To publish approved videos to our YouTube channel and keep their status up to date.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To answer support, privacy and takedown requests.
We do not sell or rent personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Who processes it for us
We share data only with the service providers that run parts of Eat My Presidential Shorts for us, and only what they need:
- Twilio SendGrid: sends sign-in codes and service email (your email address and the message).
- Cloudflare: DNS, network security and the encrypted tunnel in front of the website and API (IP address and request data).
- pushiq: our push notification relay, which passes notifications to Apple (device push token and the notification text).
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and the Apple Push Notification service.
- Google / YouTube: the YouTube API Services, used to upload and manage videos on our channel (see section 5).
- Anthropic: the AI model behind the app's chat assistant, which receives the idea and chat text needed to write and revise scripts.
Our servers, database and video rendering run on infrastructure we operate ourselves. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people or the service.
5. YouTube API Services
Eat My Presidential Shorts uses the YouTube API Services. By using the YouTube features of Eat My Presidential Shorts you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We connect only our own YouTube channel, through Google OAuth, to upload approved videos. Through the YouTube API Services we access and store:
- the YouTube video ids of videos we upload, and their upload, processing and privacy status;
- the title, description and synthetic-content disclosure we set on each upload;
- channel and video analytics for our own channel (such as views and watch time), to see which videos work.
The OAuth refresh token is stored encrypted on our servers, never in the app. We do not access the YouTube accounts or data of people who watch our videos. The website may embed our videos with YouTube's player (from youtube-nocookie.com); when you play one, YouTube may set cookies and collect data under Google's policies.
You can revoke Eat My Presidential Shorts's access to any Google account at any time from the Google security settings page (https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions). When access is revoked, or on request, we delete the YouTube data we stored through that authorization within 30 days, except video ids we must keep to honour a takedown.
6. Google API Limited Use
Eat My Presidential Shorts's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide the publishing features described above; we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition; we do not use it for advertising; and no person reads it unless you ask us to, it is needed for security, or the law requires it.
7. How long we keep it
- Account data (email, Apple identifier, ideas, chats, notes): until you delete your account or ask us to.
- Sign-in sessions: up to 180 days of inactivity, or until you sign out.
- Push tokens: until you sign out, turn notifications off, or Apple reports the token invalid.
- Usage and security logs: about 30 days. Approval and publishing audit records are kept while the video they relate to is published.
- YouTube data: while the video is on our channel, and deleted within 30 days of revocation as described above.
- Backups: overwritten on a rolling cycle of about 30 days.
8. Deleting your data and your choices
You can delete your account and data from the app or through the support form. See how to delete your data. You can also ask us to access, correct or export your data through the support form (choose “Privacy / my data”). Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws such as the CCPA) you may have further rights; we will respond within the time the law requires.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is limited to the operator, and posting a video requires a human approval with Face ID. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you as the law requires.
10. Children
Eat My Presidential Shorts is not directed to children under 13, and app accounts are for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, tell us through the support form and we will delete it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and tell app users in the app when the change is significant.
12. Contact
Use the support form; for privacy requests choose “Privacy / my data”.
